Terms of use and estimate disclaimer

Results are estimates

Every result on ElevatorCalc is an estimate for planning. It is not an engineering design, a shop drawing, a code compliance determination or an approval of any kind. ElevatorCalc does not offer engineering services, and nothing on the site is the work of a licensed professional engineer acting for you.

Not engineering advice; a licensed professional checks every result. Not a substitute for a licensed engineer, the manufacturer's data or the authority having jurisdiction; confirm the code edition your jurisdiction has adopted.

Check every result before you rely on it

Before you design, order, build or alter anything, have the result checked by a licensed elevator contractor or a licensed professional engineer, against the manufacturer's data for the equipment you choose. The authority having jurisdiction decides which code edition applies and approves the installation, so confirm the result with them too.

Codes and editions

Each calculator names the standard, edition and clause it works from. Elevator codes differ by jurisdiction and by edition. We restate rules in our own words and compute them for your inputs; we do not reproduce the standards. Where a calculator says a limit still needs a trade check, treat that limit as unconfirmed until it is checked against a licensed copy of the edition that applies to your work.

No warranty

The calculators, the manuals library and the MCP server are provided as is and as available. We make no promise, express or implied, that a result is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose, or that the site will be available or free of errors.

Limits on our liability

The site is free and you use it at your own risk. As far as the law allows, Maxwell Industries LLC is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on a result, including indirect or consequential loss.

Your part

You are responsible for the inputs you give and for checking every result before you use it. You may use the results in your own work. Please do not copy the site's text, code or drawings and publish them as your own.

Manuals library

The manuals library is a set of links. Each one goes to a document on its maker's or publisher's own site; we do not host, frame or copy manufacturer files. Each document belongs to its publisher, and the publisher's terms apply to it. Public-domain and open-licence guides carry their source and licence line.

Your data

Calculations run in your browser. Opening or sharing an input link puts the inputs in a URL sent to the server and possibly kept in browser history and request logs. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and shows no advertising. The MCP endpoint receives inputs to compute each request; its application code does not store inputs or results. We make no promise about infrastructure retention.

Trademarks

All trademarks belong to their owners. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by any manufacturer or standards body.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. We may change them; the version on this page is the one that applies.

Who runs the site

ElevatorCalc is run by Maxwell Industries LLC, Washington, United States.
